a room revealed ::

design is such a process … starting with a canvas, sometimes blank and other times with some colors or textures already established.  each and every space has a list of “musts” or ways that it needs to function for the family who uses it.  that’s just how this latest reveal began …

my friend and client’s use of bold color was certainly refreshing, and she had just two things on her “must” list … this room had to utilize the existing bright, contemporary rug, but not revolve around it so that the furnishings would still look beautiful one day when the rug sought greener pastures.  the second “must” is that the room had to have seating for this busy family of 7 and their friends.  that was no small order, but i think we accomplished her goals quite well!

first was the hunt for the perfect furnishings and fabrics.  you may remember these fun accent pillows from an earlier post …

these fabrics were just what the room needed to highlight the rug’s bold colors and spread color throughout the room!

the eggplant fabric that framed the beautiful picture window in the room was removed, and we opted for a custom drapery that would better suite the stunning view!

after new furnishings, fabrics, and lamps, this lovely living room has a new look!
