table tips for fall ::

with shades of red and gold covering the lawn and fall parties filling the calendar, this weekend was the perfect time to design a fresh tablescape for the season!  my goal this year was to use items from around the house, and i’d say it was a success!  for those of you would like to design your own centerpiece but don’t know where to start, this post is for you!

the first step is to select a beautiful tray to use as your base – metal, glass, and wood all work.  i happened to have this gorgeous antique edge mirrored tray that was begging to be in the spotlight!  be sure to place furniture pads on the bottom of your tray to avoid scratching the table.

the next step was to gather glass pieces from around the house.  be sure to search your attic or basement – you’ll be amazed at what you may have forgotten about!

use a variety of heights and sizes for an eclectic display.  i love to add a bit of shine to my table as well – gold accents were just the answer!

now it’s time to add the candles – use the same color for a sophisticated look!

then an antique beautifully covered book and organic shaped accessory – one exception to my “not new” rule, i scored this golden metal orb at a local decor shop last week!

next a few more accents to remind guests of the holiday at hand.  i plan to change these through the holidays so this tablescape will greet guests for thanksgiving and christmas as well!
